A van, a full tool set, and no waiting room.

What a mobile mechanic actually is, what we take on, what we refuse, and how the pricing works. All of it in plain language.

Why a mobile mechanic makes more sense in a city like this

The traditional way to get a car fixed costs you most of a day. Drop it off before work, arrange a ride, wait for a phone call that comes at four, arrange another ride, collect it. In February, in Milwaukee, with a car that may or may not start, that whole chain becomes considerably worse.

Coming to the car removes almost all of it. Your car is already parked somewhere for eight hours a day. That is enough time to do a brake job, a battery, an alternator, a starter, an oil change and a full diagnostic scan without you rearranging anything at all.

What we will and will not take on

We will do diagnostics, brakes, batteries, starters, alternators, cooling systems, suspension, steering, tune-ups, filters, oil, external transmission work, sensors, gaskets and most bolt-on engine repair, at your home or your workplace.

We will not rebuild a transmission at a curb, pull an engine in a driveway, or do bodywork and paint. Those need a lift and a controlled space, and anyone offering them from a van is either not doing them properly or is about to leave your car in pieces. When a job belongs indoors we say so before we take your money, not halfway through.

How we price, and why it is boring on purpose

A flat $79 call-out that includes the diagnostic, not just the driving. Labor at $115 an hour after the first half hour, billed in half-hour increments rather than rounded up. Parts at a fixed markup over our trade cost, and we will turn the screen around and show you the cost line if you want to see it.

No shop supplies charge. No environmental fee. No fuel surcharge. No separate diagnostic fee stacked on top of the diagnostic. If a quote we gave you turns out to be wrong because something underneath was worse than it looked, you hear about it before the work happens, not on the invoice.

Photographs of everything, whether you ask or not

Every job gets photographed - before, during where it matters, and after. The failed part gets a picture. The corroded line gets a picture. The measurement gets a picture. You get them all.

Partly that is so you can see what you paid for. Mostly it is so you can take a second opinion somewhere else with actual evidence in your hand, which is a thing we think you should always be able to do.

Proof, not adjectives

We would rather show you than tell you

Anyone can write "honest" on a website. Here is what it looks like in practice.

Handheld OBD2 scan tool held in an orange nitrile glove showing fault code P0303, cylinder 3 misfire detected
P0303 - cylinder 3 misfire, stored as permanent. The code tells you which cylinder is unhappy. It does not tell you whether the cause is a coil, a plug, an injector or a leak, and that is the part you are actually paying for.
Professional Autel MaxiCheck tablet held in one hand listing multiple stored and pending trouble codes
A full-system scan, not a parts-counter code pull. Pending, current and permanent codes all read separately, and every module gets asked - not just the engine.
Brake caliper inspected with a flashlight showing remaining friction material on the pad through the caliper window
Pad thickness read through the caliper window with a light. This is a measurement, not an opinion, and you get the number before anyone quotes you a brake job.

Something wrong with the car? Tell us where it is parked.

$79 flat call-out, diagnostic included, 7 days a week, 7am - 7pm. If you decline the repair that is the whole bill.
